Why learn French for Canada PR?

  • Express Entry gives points for French as a second official language, in addition to English.
  • At the time of writing, candidates with NCLC 7 or higher in all four French skills can get up to 50 additional CRS points, depending on their English scores.
  • IRCC also holds category-based Express Entry draws for French-language proficiency.
  • Several provinces outside Quebec run nomination streams for French-speaking candidates.

CRS points and draw categories are set by IRCC and can change. We check the current rules on the IRCC website with you before you plan.
